The Rabbit Hole
What a surprise this was a colourful pub is an absolute gem for anyone who appreciates a vibrant atmosphere and a warm welcome. I'll definitely be returning. Pint of Thatchers Blood Orange and a Doom Bar yum.
The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was incredibly friendly. They have great beer prices, and the person behind the bar was amazing. Plus, the music vibe was perfectly chilled. It's truly a place for colourful people, and I highly recommend it.

Background....
Relatively new establishment, but it has brought new life to a premises with a history as a public house.
Formerly The Jolly Judge: Before becoming The Rabbit Hole, this location was known as The Jolly Judge. This name was a clear nod to its proximity to the old Magistrates' Court, which is located opposite. The Jolly Judge would have been a traditional pub serving the local community and those connected to the legal proceedings across the street.
The Transformation to The Rabbit Hole: The current incarnation, "The Rabbit Hole," is the brainchild of new owners, Zoe and Sam. They undertook a significant refurbishment and transformation of the premises.
Alice in Wonderland Theme: A key defining feature of The Rabbit Hole is its distinctive Alice in Wonderland theming. This playful and imaginative concept has given the pub a fresh and unique identity.
Recent Opening: The company "The Rabbit Hole 170 Ltd" was incorporated on February 28, 2024, and the pub itself received its premises license on November 28, 2023. This indicates that The Rabbit Hole opened its doors to the public in late 2023.
Current Offerings: The Rabbit Hole is quickly establishing itself as a vibrant local spot. It's known for:
Its bright and welcoming interior. Being a live music venue, including a popular Open Mic night. Its selection of drinks, with plans to launch food options. Its aim to be a "best 'tea party' in Torquay" with its unique theme.
In essence, while the building at 168-170 Union Street has a history as a pub (as The Jolly Judge), "The Rabbit Hole" is a relatively new and exciting chapter for the premises, bringing a fresh concept and atmosphere to Torquay's pub scene.
