Before Rock Garden: The building itself dates back to the early 1800s. Before it became the Rock Garden, the site was occupied by derelict warehousing units associated with the original quay. At one point, the building was even a carpet factory.
Establishment of Rock Garden: While sources vary slightly on the exact opening date, the Rock Garden has been open for "a couple of years" as of some reports from 2017/2018, and "11 years" as of a 2023 report. This suggests it likely opened around 2012-2015.
