Background....

Establishment of TQ Beer Works: TQ Beer Works is described as a "small family run brewery, dedicated to bringing modern, exciting, new age craft beer to Torbay and the surrounding area." Their brewing is done in the South West, utilizing Dartmoor water and high-quality hops and malt.

Taphouse Opening at Abbey Crescent: The taphouse at 1A Abbey Crescent, Torquay, opened on January 16, 2022. This location was previously "Coco/Cru Cocktails." It serves as the official taphouse for TQ Beerworks Brewery, whose main brewing operations are located at Unit 6, Kingswood Court Industrial Estate, South Brent TQ10 9YS.

Ownership: Todd Fullarton is associated with TQ Beer Works, as mentioned in local news regarding a new camera initiative. Company records also indicate that TQ PUB CO LTD, with directors Alison Mary Pearce and Darin Pearce, is connected, incorporated in September 2019.

Recognition and Activities: Since its opening, the TQ Beer Works taphouse has quickly gained recognition. It was awarded "The Best Brewery in Torquay for 2024" by Quality Business Awards UK. They also host various events, such as the TQ Winter Beer & Cider Festival, and even a silent reading club upstairs.

So, while the specific address at Abbey Crescent has a longer history (as the site of the former Palm Court Hotel and then the Abbey Sands development, which previously housed "On the Rocks" and "The Bay"), TQ Beer Works as a taphouse is a relatively new addition, opening in early 2022.
